There at a young age he started to get inspired by beat driven sounds. With the fellow villager KooDoo on his side he started to play music, meanly in small attics or narrow dungeons, with friendly specimen as his audience. His dark underground sounds were praised and enthusiastic receipted. As a result he crawled out of the shadow and wormed his way into the Belgian minimal and house scene.
At that time he met Ishtar, a party companion and deejay famous for his absurdities. Both pranksters decided to form a fellowship, called “Rucanor”, and teamed up for a fresh new deejay performance. Their collaboration got discovered by the scally pirates of Feestgedruis and pretty soon they started to play at their festivities. It turned out to be the perfect marriage. Their intense and vigorous deejay sets suited perfectly along shore of these notorious gatherings. Isthar & LaMaz lightened up dance-floors of clubs and festivals such as Fuse, Café d’Anvers, Decadance, Thé Dansant and NU Festival.
Recently LaMaz has signed with Sweet Trade Bookings, the agency of Feestgedruis, in order to continue his mission in bringing you skilfully developed musical trips. Whether he is playing alone or alongside one of the Feestgedruis residents, with sounds that are strong and deep at the same time LaMza understands how to make a party move. Watch out with this man behind the decks, because before you’ll know it you’ll start to shout: ‘Rucanor’!
